Technolgy in the Classroom

Technology in today's classroom is essential in order to introduce children to advances they will face when entering the real world.  With all the advances in technology and the virtually unlimited resources now at our fingertips we have transitioned into a .com culture.  By utilizing instruments that students are already utilizing for fun, such as computer games, iPods, and iPads teachers now can bring lessons to life.  Instruction can now be fun and entertaining so that in return students are more inclined to listen and learn the material.  One form of technology that I find amazing is the ability to produce interactive lessons on the SmartBoard.  Children are more engaged and lessons are hands on with this instrument.  A customized computer program is projected onto the SmartBoard, which looks like a projection screen, and with the use of special "pens" or your fingertips, a teacher or student can move things around and interact on a computer from across the room.  How amazing is that.  With the continued advancements, the sky will no longer be the limit inside the classroom.
